Parallels Discount Purchase Program
Parallels Desktop for Macintosh OS 10.4 or above lets you run additional operating systems (e.g., Windows or Linux) simultaneously with Mac OS X on your Intel-powered Mac. You can drag-and-drop files between desktops and run your favorite Windows-only games and applications directly on your Mac. The latest version of Parallels Desktop for Mac, Parallels 4.0, can be up to 50% faster than the previous version and has a new, easy-to-use interface.

About the Parallels Discount Purchase Program
The University of Massachusetts Amherst participates in MHEC purchasing contracts. Through this program, students, faculty, and staff on all UMass campuses can purchase Parallels at a significant discount. The sale of Parallels software through MHEC contracts is managed by GovConnection, who provides the software via download only.
Parallels for Personal Use (Students, Faculty, & Staff)
Members of the University community on all UMass campuses can purchase Parallels for personal use through GovConnection, a software retailer and distributor.

How to Order a License
Students, faculty, and staff who wish to purchase software for personal use
should visit:

Parallels software obtained through GovConnection is only available as a download. Your license includes one year of software maintenance (i.e., updates, patches, and support) from the developer.
The first time you order software from GovConnection, you must create an account with the company. You will be asked to provide a valid UMass email address and your student ID number (students) or employee ID number (faculty, staff) as proof that you are a member of the UMass community.
Parallels for Official Institutional Use (Departments, Faculty, & Staff)
Departments, faculty, and staff from all UMass campuses who wish to purchase Parallels for official institutional use can also order through GovConnection and receive MHEC special pricing.
