Applications Support

Virus Removal

Software Support Consultants can scan and usually clean a virus-infected disk. If you have used the disk with your home computer, it too is likely infected.

While viruses frequently can be removed, there is no guarantee that your data will be undamaged. For this reason, it is always wise to scan foreign discs and downloaded files before using them. We recommend that you install our free anti-virus software. These programs will also enable you to scan discs at your computer.

Data Recovery

Clients with damaged or missing data on their disks can turn to Software Support Consultants for help.

Damaged CD's, DVD's, and other storage media can be brought in without an appointment. Consultants will scan the media with a data recovery utility and attempt to save the data.

Clients with missing or damaged data on the hard disks (desktop or laptop computer) should make an appointment (545-9400) with a specific Software Support Consultant before bringing the machine to Software Support.

Pre-Purchase Consultations

In the market for a new piece of software? Our consultants will work with you to assess your needs and then recommend the application(s) that is (are) best for you and the system configuration required to support your application needs.

Many of our services are free; however, we do charge for some consulting services and the actual work done on your computer. See our Consulting Fees Info page for our hourly rates.
